Kala Swenson serves as a Family Law Paralegal at our firm.
Kala graduated from Winona State University with a Bachelors degree in Paralegal Studies and Psychology.
Prior to joining Smith Strong, PLC, Kala served as a paralegal at a prominent appellate practice group in Richmond, VA, where she served for over two years.
Kala grew up in the small town of Zimmerman, Minnesota, population 5,200, where she graduated from Zimmerman Middle and High School [Go Zimmerman Thunder and its proud mascot "Thor!"]. She moved to Richmond in 2014 upon graduating from college; and has loved getting to know the area.
In her spare time she enjoys volunteering at SCAN ( Stop Child Abuse Now), Motocross, and taking advantage of all Richmond has to offer. Kala frequently races a Kawasaki 250f in Motocross competitions.
Kala frequently brings a dozen Duck Donuts to the office for our clients--rewarding our early visitors with the best selection. Her caring attitude extends beyond the donut offerings, however, as she carefully guides clients through difficult family law transitions.
Kala is a proud mother of a Yorkie, "Winnie," who colleague Morgan describes as a "little punk," which Kala shrugs and replies, "well, that's kinda accurate."
Kala joined Smith Strong, PLC in 2016 after a rigorous paralegal training program lasting several months.
