Laura Angel is an attorney from and licensed in Colombia, serving as a Senior Paralegal at Smith Strong, PLC. She earned her law degree from Universidad del Rosario, graduating with a minor in Private Law and receiving a merit-based scholarship for academic excellence. Her legal background includes work in Family Law, Criminal Law, and broader areas of Private Law, which gave her a solid foundation in both litigation and client advocacy.
Seeking to broaden her perspective, Laura gained international experience at the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the Organization of American States (OAS) in Washington, D.C., where she was exposed to the intersections of human rights, diplomacy, and international law. This experience inspired her to pursue opportunities that would allow her to apply her comparative training across jurisdictions.
Laura is now making a professional transition into the U.S. legal system. She completed the Paralegal Certificate program at Boston University, where she strengthened her knowledge of U.S. law, legal research, and case management. Fluent in Spanish and English, she brings a cross-border perspective and a commitment to bridge her civil law training with the common law system, bringing a comparative approach that enriches her work in the United States.
As a fluent Spanish speaker, Laura is also available to assist our Spanish-speaking clients at Smith Strong, PLC.
