Katie Smith Firm Accounts & Marketing Specialist

Katie Smith serves the firm's Accounting and Marketing divisions.

Katie graduated from William & Mary with both a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a Masters Degree in Higher Education Administration (Van notes:  her transcript shows she graduated with a 4.0 GPA from her Masters Program--not too shabby!)

Katie served in the Virginia Community College System for five years as an academic advisor and faculty member, at the PVCC, NVCC ELI, and JTCC campuses.

Katie is married to founding attorney Van Smith of Smith Strong, and they attend Third Church in Henrico. They welcomed the birth of their first daughter, Farah Lee Smith, in September 2012, and their son, George Douglas Smith, in April 2015.

Katie was born in Charlotte, North Carolina, and grew up in Winston-Salem, graduating from Salem Academy.

Katie hails from a distinguished line of lawyers.   Her grandfather, William Poe, attended Harvard Law School after World War II and was a founding partner of Parker Poe in Charlotte; and her father, Stephen Poe, now serves as Managing Partner of Bell, Davis & Pitt in Winston-Salem, where he specializes in banking law.
