When you are in a heated divorce situation, it is tempting to send hurtful text messages to your spouse. The problem with doing this is that phone records can be requested as part of evidence in your case, and these texts could show your cin a les-than-positive manner.

Try to avoid this.  In a court of law, text messages that reflect negatively on your character can hurt your divorce and custody case.  A good rule of thumb is to only write text messages that you would not mind a judge reading outloud in a courtroom.
