Jack was born and raised in Virginia, growing up in nearby Colonial Heights with his parents and older siblings. In high school, Jack played 5 sports for Colonial Heights, including: baseball, basketball, football, golf, and volleyball. After graduating from Colonial Heights High School, he followed in his father’s and brothers’ footsteps, continuing his education at Hampden-Sydney College. While attending H-SC, he played football for the Tigers in the NCAA ODAC division; in addition, Jack also participated in various clubs and social organizations, and even studied abroad in a language and cultural immersion program Madrid, Spain, in the summer of 2019. In May of 2021, he graduated from Hampden-Sydney with a Bachelor’s degree in History.

As a summer job while at Hampden-Sydney College, Jack was employed by one of North Carolina's premier custom boat builders, Jarrett Bay Boatworks, where he fulfilled several roles in boat construction, service, and repair. Then following Jack's graduation from Hampden-Sydney, Jack was hired as Jarrett Bay's Assistant Dockmaster, where he remained until he was hired by Smith Strong in February of 2022. While Jarrett Bay gave Jack his start in his career, he knew that he wanted to pursue law school, and wanted to gain some legal experience before doing so.

Jack moved back to Virginia, and was hired by Smith Strong in February of 2022, where he served as a valuable member of our Estate Planning division for almost two years. During his time at Smith Strong, he assisted attorneys H. Van Smith, Nicole Gram, and Patrick Solomita, in his capacity as a full-time paralegal. Additionally, Jack took on other responsibilities during his tenure with the firm, including a supplemental role as a client intake specialist, and he often worked with H. Van Smith directly on a variety of firm related projects.

Following Jack's time with the firm, Jack pursued a degree in law, and he moved to Charleston, South Carolina, where he attended the Charleston School of Law in the fall of 2023. After his first year in law school, he interned at a firm that drafted estate plans, where he gained valuable experience in the drafting process of Estate Planning.

During Jack's second year in law school, he also gained valuable experience in the practice area of Real Estate when he was hired as a law clerk by the Bryan Law Group in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. In his capacity as a law clerk, he assisted the owning and operating attorney Charles "Charlie" Bryan in real estate matters in the Low Country area of South Carolina during his two remaining years at the Charleston School of Law.

Jack graduated from the Charleston School of Law in the spring of 2026. Following his graduation, Jack and his wife, Madison Steele, moved back to the Richmond area to be closer to their family and friends.

Jack is an avid outdoorsman, who loves to spend his free time waterfowl hunting and offshore fishing. He also likes to spend time golfing, working out, watching Baltimore Ravens and Baltimore Orioles games, and spending time with his family and friends.

Jack is licensed to practice law in Virginia and is a member of the Virginia State Bar.
