Attorney Gabrielle Dennis serves our divorce, custody, visitation, support, and estate planning clients from Smith Strong, PLC's offices in Richmond and Williamsburg, Virginia, with a firm, calm, and analytical style that guides her out of court negotiation and in court advocacy.
Gabrielle grew up in beautiful Nelson County, Virginia, near Charlottesville. Gabrielle graduated from the University of Georgia School of Law, and earned her undergraduate degree in Government from the University of Virginia. And somewhere between the two schools became a big college football fan.
Prior to attending law school, Gabrielle worked as a legal assistant at a general practice firm in Lovingston, Virginia (Nelson County), where she assisted in the handling of real estate transactions and the representation of clients in family law matters and criminal cases. Gabrielle gained practical experience when she returned there as a summer associate following both her first and second years of law school.
During law school, Gabrielle was a Notes and Articles Editor for the Georgia Journal of Intellectual Property and a teaching assistant for legal research and writing Professor Curtis Nesset, as well as an active member of the Family Law Society. While in law school, Gabrielle worked as a law clerk for the Department of Family & Child Services, where she assisted with the legal processes necessary to help ensure the safety and wellbeing of children in social services custody.
Both her private law experience and educational path led her to become a passionate advocate for her divorce, custody, and support clients.
Before joining Smith Strong, Gabrielle served as an Assistant Commonwealth Attorney in her hometown of Nelson County, Virginia, prosecuting both misdemeanor and felony criminal cases, as a budding trial lawyer. The role taught Gabrielle an early lesson, if settlement is not possible, she relishes the opportunity to represent her clients in court when necessary.
Gabrielle currently lives in the Fan neighborhood of Richmond, Virginia. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, hiking with her dog Cooper, and watching Georgia football.
She is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
