Before Lisa attended law school, she had a long career teaching high school chemistry in Stonington, Connecticut. She earned her B.S. and M.A. from the University of Rhode Island in Secondary Science Education. During summers, she pursued interesting professional development opportunities, from writing curriculum for the Naval Historical Foundation on chemistry applications of submarine technology, to learning how to run high pressure liquid chromatography in the Reference Standards Department at Pfizer.  Lisa was awarded the prestigious Teacher of the Year for Stonington Public Schools in 2015.

Lisa is the dedicated servant of her Welsh Terrier, Tina.  When she is not walking Tina around their Bellevue neighborhood, she enjoys making pottery and knitting.  She attends the Midlothian Friends meeting. Her adult son lives in Sacramento, and is never micromanaged by his mother.
