Lisa is licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Lisa graduated cum laude from the University of Richmond School of Law in 2018. During law school, she held a position on the Public Interest Law Review as Notes & Comments editor, and worked as Research Assistant for Professor Ann Hodges. With Professor Hodges, Lisa published the newsletter of the Labor and Employment Relations Association, a national organization with 40 local chapters. Lisa also published as a 2016 Writer in Residence for Ms. JD, a national organization dedicated to women’s issues in law. In addition, Lisa earned a Carrico Center Pro Bono Certificate, a CALI Excellence Award in Constitutional and Statutory Law of Public Employment, and an ABA-Bloomberg BNA award for excellence in Labor and Employment Law.
During law school, Lisa also published a comment in the Public Interest Law Review, and co-presented at the annual statewide Legal Aid conference on the subject of bedbugs in landlord tenant law.
Before Lisa attended law school, she had a long career teaching high school chemistry in Stonington, Connecticut. She earned her B.S. and M.A. from the University of Rhode Island in Secondary Science Education. During summers, she pursued interesting professional development opportunities, from writing curriculum for the Naval Historical Foundation on chemistry applications of submarine technology, to learning how to run high pressure liquid chromatography in the Reference Standards Department at Pfizer. Lisa was awarded the prestigious Teacher of the Year for Stonington Public Schools in 2015.
Lisa is the dedicated servant of her Welsh Terrier, Tina. When she is not walking Tina around their Bellevue neighborhood, she enjoys making pottery and knitting. She attends the Midlothian Friends meeting. Her adult son lives in Sacramento, and is never micromanaged by his mother.
Lisa serves as an Attorney & Counselor at Law in the firm’s family law section. Her practice focuses on the representation of clients in divorce, custody, support, and equitable distribution matters. She is an courtroom advocate and is as comfortable in the courtroom as she is at the negotiating table. She represents clients throughout Central Virginia, from Richmond to Williamsburg.
